Meet Shelby

Hi and thanks for visiting my blog!  I suppose this is the part where I am going to brag about myself! Eh, not really.  There is not really that much to say.  Anyway, I am currently a sophomore at the University of Kansas studying Photography and Journalism.  I am the type of girl that likes to socialize and go out on the town, but there are still moments where I would rather just sit at home and read a book or watch tv, say...Adventure Time?  Friends?  Dexter?  Yea, if any of those shows are on, don't text me, because I probably won't reply until afterwards.

My love for photography probably all started when I was at the age of 9 and played around with my mother's really OLD Kodak camera and attempted to make these poorly made stop-motion videos with my Barbie dolls.  Talk about living the life, ya know.  I never grew out of that photo-obsessed phase and it probably grew over time.  After I graduate, I am hoping to work for a magazine doing commercial photography, preferably fashion OF COURSE *dream job*.

As for now, I am just living life as a college student trying to make ends meet while still attempting to gather ideas on how to build up my portfolio.  In my spare time, if I ever have any from the madness of homework and design projects, I work as a photographer's assistant here in Lawrence.  It has been a great experience for me so far and it is so much stinkin' fun!  You have no idea.  Not only is it fun to work with such an amazing and carefree boss, but I have learned a lot about photography at the same time.

I am also in the Alpha Delta Pi sorority on campus and absolutely do not regret my decision in joining.  I enjoy the aspect of going out and giving back to the community and helping others, while at the same time, making new friends and meeting new people everyday.
